Maplestead Farm Christmas Trees
From the 27th November 2025, you’ll be able to choose your perfect tree at the Maplestead Farm Christmas Barn, open 4 days a week (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun 10-4), through till 21st December.
The first of our Christmas trees were planted here at Maplestead Farm nine years ago and we began harvesting them in 2021.
Growing our own trees here on the farm, keeps our carbon footprint to a minimum. The distance from the field in which they grow, to the barn in which they’re sold, is metres as opposed to the 100s of miles that a garden centre tree might have travelled. We are also very proud to use biodegradable netting for our trees, not plastic. Our Christmas tree field provides shelter for insects and nesting sites for birds and so its continued presence provides important ecological benefits to the local area.
WHY CHOOSE A NORDMANN FIR?
Pleasingly symmetrical, the Nordmann Fir has strong branches, perfect for hanging all those decorations you’ll be buying at the Christmas Barn! Its needles are softer than many other Christmas tree species so its not at all prickly. It also holds on to those needles longer than other trees, making it the perfect choice for those of us who like to put our Christmas tree up nice and early (and those of us somewhat averse to vacuuming!).
